Do I or do I not like this film? I watched the documentary almost three weeks ago, so I will make this review using what's left of it in my memory. Olfa, the mother of four daughters, two of them were supposedly devoured by a wolf (as one of her other daughters claimed). The wolf is the" zoomofication" of ISIS - or maybe, in my own interpretation, a disease that's created by mankind to harm mankind in the form of ideologies. One of mankind's greatest flaws is that he is so sure and confident in himself, in what he claims to be true. Mankind creates the idea of their own creator and spends the rest of their lives fighting for that same idea, passing it through generations, along with its consequences. Going back to our main subject, the documentary by Kouather Ben Hania. Again, I have a problem with labeling it as a documentary; it's more like a behind-the-scenes look at an idea originating from the director's head, which is a reinterpretation of actual events that happened at some point in the lives of the five main characters: Olfa and her daughters. Reliving the pain – is it really therapeutic to remember one's traumatic experiences? Let's Google it, or let's not because the internet in this coffee shop is so bad. I'm a person who believes in the power of pain; only those who have experienced enough pain are saved from oblivion and delusions. People who haven't experienced enough pain in life will never be saved because they are oblivious. Those same people who live the happiest (not necessarily the most fulfilled) lives are those who are always going after something, always running. Real men don't need happiness; it's a pointless pursuit. Therefore, I don't find a problem in the director's idea of using these people to create something for whatever intention, for whatever message, although I'm pretty sure that the message has been received, hopefully. I would also like to point out that I appreciate the director's choice to include a star like Hend Sabri in her film; it would attract the audience to a film with her as the protagonist and have her experience what it's like to be next to a woman in many ways very different from her

The Turin Horse (2011)

sometimes you watch a movie, and feel things, you can't really tell why but you know that this is a good movie. the things you feel don't have to be positive, most of the time, the things that touch us are just provocative and disturbing. The Turin horse depicts life in many ways, there is a harsh truth that everyone should come to terms with, that life is constant, there's an excerpt i found somewhere on the web that explains it : "One constant since the beginning of time might be change, however, the fear of change is also a constant. Since times immemorial, humans have liked routine. It makes us feel in control of our lives." there's comfort in accepting every day's monotony, as we most likely know how discomforting and scary it is to to experience or feel something new. there's a scene where the cab man's unnamed daughter was sitting in a chair in front of the window, she was observing, though not sure whether the object of her observation is the helplessness and confusion of the weather or herself. we might not notice it but there's one change in living this kind of life, it's the monster inside each one of us, it will day by day grows till we reach a point where we are completely out of control.

i'm honestly skeptical as to whether this director is a lunatic or a genius.
movie is about, um, thats not the point because
it doesn't matter what is it about, you just get to enjoy the stuff
that happens without really understanding anything as to why they happen

- breaking bad (2013): five seasons.

not much to say about it, it didn't make me feel anything new, just a nerd that got away with every stupid act because of luck, and the word methamphetamine an family keeps repeating 10000 times each episode. i give it 6.5/10 just because of the character develompment, also the scenario not bad
EDIT: maybe I didn't give it justice, i think i might come back some other time and do a better review.

really interesting film, to me it is nostalgic in someway. if you are not from the north western part of Tunisia i won't promise that you are going to feel it or even like it at all, I meaaaaan you might, if that's the case then that would really be something. the thing that make this film special is not just that the actors are amateurs, in fact they EXPERIENCED the film before they were even a part of it. not much to say to be honest, just moving and beautiful.
